Boxed-In , the second premiere work of the 2001-2002 season, is a explosive reaction to conformity, limitation and censorship of information. Performed in the round, beneath a circular screen with unrelenting, pulsating video imagery, dancers seated in chairs on the perimeter engage in a "freewheeling exchange of fast-paced, exuberant physical moves" to a driving, rhythmic score.

"An ensemble of six dancers bounded freely to a driving beat, limbs rocketing in every direction, bodies zipping and zigzagging across the space...the dancers assembled a dazzling matrix of movement. This is Ariel at her best."

Michael Barnes, Austin-American Statesman

"With the liveliness of the movement, it gave the dance a sense of exhilaration."

Robert Faires, Austin Chronicle
