The Self-Portrait Project

Andrea Ariel working with visual artist Pilar Castrejon leads the program
with 15 at-risk youth at a Fairway Village Apts., a subsidized housing project.

Andrea Ariel works with 10 women in recovery, transitioning back
to their lives and families at Austin Family House, Legacy Program.

Andrea
Ariel expands the program to Oak Creek Village Apts., a housing
project, with classes of 20 or more youth ages 2-14.
ARTSPLUS

Andrea Ariel and members of
the company, including composers and musicians, Peter Stopschinski
and Graham Reynolds,
hold programs for 2nd-5th graders at Decker Elementary, Brooke Elementary,
Metz Elementary for last six years.

Andrea Ariel and the company hold a 3-week residency of Creative Movement
and Improvisation, ending with a company performance (which the students
joined to dance at the end) at Rosedale Community School for mutiply-disabled
youth.

Walter Thompson, in residence with the company, joins Andrea Ariel for part of a 12-week residency program with the American Institute for Learning, Cultural Warriors Program, created to provide struggling adolescents with an outlet for constructive expression of their specific issues and needs while completing their High School Degrees. The project included classes in Improvisation, Creative Movement, Musical Theater, Sound Painting™, and rehearsals for an original musical, Paradise, written by the students. The residency culminated in a Sound Painting™ performance of Paradise, directed and conducted by Andrea Ariel.
Movement for Actors

Andrea Ariel teaches a one-day master class, Movement for Actors, to 50 students at McCallum High School Theater Department.

Andrea Ariel teaches a four-weekend movement workshop for the Rude
Mechanicals Theater Collective, utilizing concepts of Skinner
Release Technique,
dance,
and improvisation to open the body for theater work.
