This season we are celebrating 34 years in Austin, TX of presenting original, bold performances that push the boundaries of multidisciplinary dance, hosting innovative community workshops for people of all ages and abilities, and inspiring youth through our ARTSPLUS arts-in-education programs. • BORDERLESS / A Community Project & Performance / Project Launch – October, 2023
Borderless ignites the power of art to strengthen the power of our community through exploring our human connections across ethnicities and cultures. Developed over the next season in collaboration with multicultural artistic partners and the community, the premiere performances in 2024 will create a platform to experience the art, stories, experiences and histories of the Black, Latino, and Asian communities of East Austin and beyond through dance, music, storytelling, poetry, and spoken word.
• Let’s Get Creative / Free Community Soundpainting Workshops – Fall & Spring, 2023-2024
This series of community workshops offer something completely innovative for creative expression using improvisational structures, and are accessible to everyone and anyone of all abilities in the Austin community. Sponsorships help make these workshops free!
• Community Voices Project –Fall & Spring, 2023-2024
This free workshop series offers an opportunity for the community to come together and be creative, move, share stories, dialogue, and meet new people. Participants of all abilities and skill levels are encouraged to take part – No dance or theater experience is required! Sponsorships help make these workshops free!
• ARTSPLUS, arts-in-education programs – Ongoing!
We are bringing learning and creative expression through dance and music to 60-100 youths a week as an Austin ISD Arts Partner. Our program enhances student’s learning of math, science, social studies and language through creative movement, art concepts and theater. Austin ISD schools have limited resources for arts in education programs. Your sponsorship will help us bring more programs to youth in Austin!
