Creative Community Workshop

COMMUNITY MEMBERS! FREE Creative Workshop with AADT

Sunday, May 26th from 2-4pm

Mexican American Cultural Center – Black Box Theater

601 River Street.

NO EXPERIENCE IN DANCE, THEATER OR THE ARTS NEEDED! Artists of all disciplines are welcome too! All activities are designed for participation and adaptation for all physical abilities, experience or age.

Andrea Ariel Dance Theatre invites your participation in the creation of our new work “Rally” that will be performed June 13-16 at the MACC Auditorium. We want to collaborate with community members to bring a diversity of perspectives into the development of this work. We are asking questions like: “What are you passionate about?” “What inspires you to rally about something – personally, socially, or globally?” The workshop will include creative games and other structured community-building activities. You will also get to create with Austin Soundpainting Collective musicians and dancers using a unique sign language that is used to lead a group to create in the moment with improvisation. If you play an instrument, bring it! Or just bring yourself! This is an opportunity for you to be creative, share stories, have a dialogue, and connect with new people in your community!

Come create with AADT and the Austin Soundpainting Collective and join in on the fun!

It’s free, but you need to reserve your ticket here: https://aadtcreativeworkshop.eventbrite.com
