Donate for #GivingTuesdayNOW May 5th!

Please consider supporting AADT on this day of giving and help us keep creativity, dancing and community engagement happening in NEW WAYS by donating to us at AmplifyATX.org.  GIVE HERE NOW.

#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of giving and unity that will take place on May 5, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. The day is designed to drive an influx of generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for communities and nonprofits around the world.

Austin’s own I Live Here I Give Here has expanded upon its annual #GivingTuesday efforts to lead the generosity movement for OUR community in collaboration with 200+ communities spanning 65 countries.

During this time our revenue resources normally generated through our workshops, performances, collaborative projects, education programs, business sponsorships and fundraising events is not possible.

Your donation will support our efforts to generate online content and programming, sustain our artists for their work doing this, and help keep our operations going.

Here’s all we are doing that you will support:

Creating an online digital experience of AADT’s 30 Year Anniversary: REIMAGINE in the Making. It will bring together archival recordings of our past repertoire that we were drawing inspiration from for our performance. It will also include rehearsal excerpts from our process pre-COVID, recorded virtual rehearsals and creative experiments, and the virtual reimagining of a selection of pieces that will be filmed by the dancers in their homes and outdoor spaces. We are also exploring Soundpainting through Zoom!

Developing our Community Voices Workshop for a live virtual workshop. These free workshops will offer an opportunity for the community to come together to be creative, move, share stories, dialogue, and meet new people. In a respectful and playful environment, we use theater games and other structured activities to explore issues of importance to the community. Participants of all abilities and skill levels are encouraged to take part – No dance or theatre experience is needed.

Bringing our ARTSPLUS, arts-in-education program into virtual programming for youth. This program brings learning and creative expression through dance and music to youth. We are an approved Austin ISD vendor and Arts Partner through the Creative Learning Initiative. This season we had residencies with 125 second graders at Brentwood Elementary, and over 60 K-2 and 3-5 graders at Barbara Jordon Elementary.

Thank you for your support!
